Social influence and external feedback control in humans

چکیده

This article aims to describe social influence by elucidating the cognitive, affective, and motivational processes that occur when an individual experiences attempt at being influenced. We hypothesized these are part of a feedback loop system in individual. This involves situation (input), goal state (reference), comparator, selection mechanism, predictor, action (output). Each element can become target influence, different types be classified explained how elements targeted. For instance, attempting persuade another person with strong arguments targets affected individual, while coercion violence action. In summary, this categorize, order, explain phenomena research using framework focusing on influenced individual.

Periodic solution for a delay nonlinear population equation with feedback control and periodic external source

In this paper, sufficient conditions are investigated for the existence of periodic (not necessarily positive) solutions for nonlinear several time delay population system with feedback control. Nonlinear system affected by an periodic external source is studied. Existence of a control variable provides  the extension of  some previous results obtained in other studies. We give a illustrative e...

External forcing and feedback control of nonlinear dissipative waves.

The dynamics of traveling waves in a nonlinear dissipative system are studied analytically and numerically. Spatiotemporal forcing and feedback forcing are applied to the traveling waves in a phase-separated system undergoing chemical reactions. The stability of the traveling waves and interesting, unexpected behavior, including the reversal of the propagation direction are analyzed in one dime...

Disabling External Influence in Social Networks via Edge Recommendation

Existing socio-psychological studies suggest that users of a social network form their opinions relying on the opinions of their neighbors. According to DeGroot opinion formation model, one value of particular importance is the asymptotic consensus value 〈π,x〉— the sum of user opinions xi weighted by the users’ eigenvector centralities πi. This value plays the role of an attractor for the opini...

Identifying Feedback Control Strategies of Running Cockroaches and Humans

In this dissertation, we model biological sensorimotor behaviors of two species, a cockroach following a wall and a human running on a split-belt treadmill, to elucidate the neural processing that underlie locomotor control in biological systems: (1) We model the horizontal musculoskeletal dynamics of antenna-based wall following for the American cockroach, Periplaneta americana, as a dynamic p...
